For 117 years, St Scholastica Academy has educated young women on the Northshore remaining true to the Benedictine pillars of Prayer, Work, Study and Community while embracing the latest advances in education. Today we are grateful for the opportunity to provide in-person, on-campus instruction to the young women of the Academy.
The Spring of 2020 highlighted SSA’s ability to educate students under any circumstance. Due to the Academy’s integration of technology in the daily academic life of our students, we were able to quickly pivot to virtual learning during the stay-at-home order which began in March of this year. Our students and faculty made the necessary adjustments to finish the year virtually thus ensuring the readiness of our students when in-person learning began in August.
With the current pandemic still underway and the uncertainty of the future, it is necessary that we upgrade and enhance our technology by providing our teachers with current computing devices and applications, as they are currently utilizing computers that, by today’s standards, are outdated. In addition, to assure that we fully continue to engage each student, it is imperative that we add Google Enterprise for Education to our Google Suite, thus providing an abundance of Google features that will directly benefit our students.
Our strong academic and extra-curricular programs depend upon the generosity of our supporters. This year we need your support more than ever. While the funds from Annual Giving are part of the Academy operating budget, we plan to focus those funds on updating classroom technology to ensure our teachers continue to have the latest tools to deliver a rigorous curriculum for our students.
Your investment in St. Scholastica Academy allows us to fulfill our mission of remaining cost-accessible to as many families as possible as well as having highly qualified teachers in every classroom.
Thank you for your support both today and in the past. Every dollar counts and no gift is too small. Your donation makes a difference.
